A More Gentle Approach
Developed in the late 1960’s, the Activator Method® is the most widely used “low force” chiropractic technique worldwide. This unique system of adjusting restores proper balance with improved safety and comfort, avoiding the “twisting, cracking and popping” associated with traditional chiropractic adjustments.
How does it work?
The Activator technique utilizes specific procedures to detect spinal joint dysfunction, analyze leg length inequality, detect body mechanic problems, and test neurological reflexes to pinpoint the precise location of the problem. Dr. Carraway
then delivers a gentle adjustment using the Activator, a small, hand-held, rubber-tipped instrument that delivers a safe, fast thrust to the affected spinal segment.
Is the Activator Method right for me?
Patients of all ages appreciate how easy it is to be adjusted using the Activator Method. However, because of its gentle and comfortable approach, the Activator technique is especially suited for the elderly, particularly those with arthritis, spinal degeneration or osteoporosis, as well as expectant moms and even children.
Are Activator doctors well trained?
To become certified to practice the Activator Technique, a Doctor of Chiropractic must receive extensive instruction and pass written and practical examinations. In addition, all certified doctors must continue their training yearly to maintain this status. Dr. Carraway has been extensively trained in the Advanced Activator Method Technique.
